NIH’s CRISP System Replaced by RePORTER

Posted by M. Ascher on February 5, 2010

The NIH’s CRISP system for finding grant information has been replaced by the RePORT Expenditures and Results (RePORTER) query tool. According to the NIH: this new tool retains all of the features of CRISP while providing additional query fields, hit lists that can be sorted and downloaded to Excel, NIH funding for each project (expenditures), and the publications and patents that have acknowledged support from each project (results). RePORTER also provides links to PubMed Central, PubMed, and the US Patent & Trademark Office Patent Full Text and Image Database for more information on research results. New features will be added to RePORTER in several releases throughout fiscal year 2010. If you have any questions, or would like to make a suggestion for new features, there is a Help button at the bottom of each page. Search RePORTER here: http://projectreporter.nih.gov/reporter.cfm.

16th Annual Faculty Authors Bibliography and Celebration

Posted by M. Ascher on January 12, 2010

Today the Health Sciences Library with the sponsorship of the Dean and Provost, releases the 16th edition of the Annual Faculty Authors Bibliography. The Bibliography celebrates the scholarly publications and activities of New York Medical College’s esteemed faculty. The 16th edition recognizes publications from the 2008/2009 academic school year. An invitation-only celebration will take place in the Health  Sciences Library today from 4-5:50 PM.

Beginning this year, and with retrospective development underway, the full database will be browseable and searchable online using RefWorks bibliographic management software’s RefShare component. Data from the last five years has been converted from ProCite thus far, so the current database covers back to 2004/2005. Progress is being made toward migrating the data from previous years into the RefShare database.

You can access the database, PDFs of the print bibliography, tip sheets, and phtographs on the Faculty Author Bibliography site located at http://library.nymc.edu/bibliog
