Join us for Scopus Day in the BSB Lobby!

Today representatives from Elsevier Publishing will be visiting New York Medical College to demonstrate the use of the Scopus database and other electronic resources to users of the Health Sciences Library. The demonstrations and event will take place in the Basic Sciences Building Lobby from 10 AM -1 PM on Tuesday 9/15.

Scopus, marketed as the world’s largest bibliographic database, has gained wide acceptance at New York Medical College as a broad-based indexing and abstracting database with citations and links to over 29 million articles from over 15,000 journal titles. Besides its broad scope, Scopus is useful as a citation analysis tool. Authors wishing to use metrics such as the h-index, or citation alerts for their papers can learn how to set these up in today’s event. Furthermore, representatives will be on hand to work with you to clean up your author record and make your research more visible in the Scopus database.

Please stop by with questions, to discuss use of these products, or to enjoy a refreshment. Representatives from Elsevier Publishing will also be willing to discuss their other electronic products, such as Science Direct (a platform for their electronic journals), which is a source of many electronic journals at New York Medical College.
